Pregnancy is a private kind of beautiful. You want him close — but you don't want him reading every journal entry, every symptom log, every mood. Elara's partner mode was built for exactly this distance. He sees what's happening, never the intimate notebook of how you feel about it.
how it works.

You generate a code.
In Elara, Profile → Partner Mode. A six-digit code appears, paired with a QR for one-tap scanning. The code rotates every thirty seconds — the same security pattern Google Authenticator uses for two-factor login.

You share it once.
Text it, AirDrop it, hand him your phone. Any way you like. The window is short on purpose: anyone overhearing a stale code is locked out within seconds.

He installs Elara.
On his iPhone, Elara appears with a "join Mom" button on the welcome screen. He enters the six digits or scans the QR. The link is made.

He sees what you choose.
From his phone he sees: your current pregnancy week, the baby illustration, the milestones you've passed, and the next visit on your calendar. That's it. No journal, no photos, no symptoms, no mood scores. None of it ever leaves your device.

He sends quiet love.
On his weekly baby drawing he can tap a heart. You feel the buzz on your phone in real time — wherever you are. A small bridge across the day.
what stays private.
The only thing that leaves your phone for partner mode is a minimal snapshot of your profile (first name, due date, avatar emoji, current week). It lives in a Firestore document that only your partner can read, and that only you can delete.
Your journal entries, photos, kick counts, contraction logs, mood tracking, and any Apple Health data never leave your device. There is no setting that could turn that on — the feature literally doesn't exist in our code.
how to unlink.
Profile → Partner Mode → Unlink. The partner's access stops immediately. The snapshot can be deleted from the same screen. He'll see "Mom has unlinked" the next time he opens his app.
